Please keep this at the top!!! I have recieved a notice in my email from a scam artist targeting ebay users. The email says it is from ebay and the subject says "Official notice for all e-bay users"
The following is what is in the message body:
Dear eBay Uder,

During our regular udpate and verification of the accounts, we couldn't verify your current information. Either your information has changed or it is incomplete.

As a result, your access to bid or buy on Ebay has been restricted. To start using your eBay account fully, please update and verify your information by clicking below :

I get the same email about every two weeks I emailed them back and told them that my info is up to date and to show proof that my info isnt.

My DSL server/screener has stopped delivery on this several times. Wes is right--don't even open it.

Thanks for posting this. I just now received the bogus email. Had I not seen this post I would have joined the other lemmings jumping into the sea and responded in kind.

Not only did I get this one but I get a bogus e-mail stating they are from my service provider wanting me to update.

I wouldn't update anything that was sent by e-mail.

if people go to the section "my ebay" there's a section that they can clickon about email and other scamm types it's a little long to read but a heck of alot of info on how to protect yourself so well worth the time
