Can anyone tell me where I can buy a new roof for my 1972 pickup mine is rusted and with holes

Am I correct to read that you live in Europe?? Freight would be as much as a new truck, wouldnt it?

Thanks for your reply ,yes I live in europe,and I bought this truck a few months ago in New York ,not knowing that the roof was this bad (shipping this truck cost me about 700 dollars RoRo) but a new roof maybe easier if I could find one,I thought welding in new pieces but I don't think that would get any better.

Please advise.....

I have a good used roof here, just a little surface rust in the rain gutter. I wire wheeled it so you could see what it looks like. I am not sure how to ship it, but that could be figured out. Email me if interested. WES www.ClassicHeartbeat.com

WOW.... THATS PRETTY RUSTY. IF THERES THAT MUCH RUST IN YOUR ROOF, THE ODDS ARE ABOUT A ZILLION TO ONE, THAT THERES AN AWFUL LOT OF RUST ELSEWHERE IN YOUR CAB. INSTEAD OF WELDING ON, OR PATCHING YOUR ROOF,(LIKE PUTTING A BANDAID ON A BULLET HOLE) WHY DON'T YOU THINK ABOUT GETTING A WHOLE RUSTFREE CAB. You should definetly look at getting a rust free or close to rust free cab. There is more rust there than what you see...

Wow BadAssChevy502 that looks nasty, I think you better look for a new cab. Shipping would be killing you. Think this is gonna be a tough start of your project.

btw are you planning to install a 502 in your Chevy?

I would really go over the rest of the cab and see how bad it is. I have seen localized rusting in the driprails and the rockers not even been rusted. If it is localized maybe you can get someone to cut you some patch panels from a wrecked cab to keep the shipping down. Good luck

While I'd normally agree about finding a rust-free cab, I'm not sure that these trucks are a dime a dozen in the Netherlands........ Tom has the right idea, if you have acess to a mig welder, the roof isn't all that hard to patch. I patched the hell out of mine.

The roof that WES posted looks really solid, that would be a good deal too if the shipping is in your ball-park.

Thanks to all for your repley, and I will think about this cab or a farley new one ,but first I need to look at the shipping costs
I do have access to a mig welder, but what I don’t understand is that you can buy almost every part of this truck but not the ROOF is this a part that usually don’t rust or what.

And DUTCHMAN i’m not installing the 502 it’s already in it I bought this truck as is with the 502 and I must say there is no substitute

, the first truck I had was with a 350 and manual gear box it was nice but this is way better

Badasschevy502 I have rustfree roofs that can be acid dipped to assure you of no rust inside and out if interested.
