Porterbuilt Crossmembers

Does anyone here have the Tubular Replacement Frame Crossmembers from Porterbuilt? Can a novice install them? I really like the look.

It is just a matter of punching out the factory rivets...however...with the engine / front clip and or bed installed...you might find you do not have ample hammer swing area to hit the punch hard enough to drive out the rivets.

If you have an air compressor with ample CFM to run a compact die grinder ( air file ) so you can grind off the rivet heads and an air hammer to punch the rivets out, then you should not have problems.

Most rent-all places will have these items.

Re: Porterbuilt Crossmembers

Thank you for your response. The truck is currently at this stage. It seems Im either ordering the wrong parts or Im changing something thats already done. This is bad when you are on a tight budget and a beginner.
