Anyone Paint their Blazer top?

Has anyone painted their Blazer's fiberglass top?

I'm going to pull mine off tonight because we've finally gotten some cooler weather in N. Alabama.

I've heard some people say you can use a roller and paint the top. Others have used a brush.

I'd like to hear if anyone has recommendations for prep work, what type of paint to use, and how to apply.

BTW, It's black. I wonderfully cool color for the deep south.

Thanks,
Tim

One of the guys I work with painted the white roof on his 80 Blazer red when it was brand new. He just scuffed it, prepped it and shot it with regular automobile enamel. Paints still on there to this day.

I have smoothed the roof on some of my old Blazers. Just sand and prep as any regular paint job, but wipe it down with some fiberglass prep to kill the static from the fiberglass. Then just use whatever color of automotive paint you want. If you want to keep the texture, clean it really well and scuff the top with scotchbrite, then paint.

I got all new rubber seals for the windows on the shell, lower side seals, and front header seal for the cab and the outer for the shell.

My question is which seals require the adhesive?

My thinking is the header seal on the shell and the lower LH and RH side seals glued to fiberglass shell.
