Electric fan conversion?

1st post here.

I would like to convert my truck to electric fans. I have a 83 C-10 with the 4.1 I6 I was wondering if it would be sufficient enough to run a 12" pusher fan in front the radiator and then 16" puller behind the radiator to cool the engine. You think this is good enough? My truck runs kinda hot in rush hour traffic, i'd like to run one of the fans to a switch to help cool it better. What are your opinions?

i would just get a good set of double fans and a temp controller. a 3.1 3.4 3.6 3.8 fan should cool the i6. temp controllers i like derales. stay away from flex a lite worst pos i ever had.

get your self the fan out of a taurus and a controller and set it up as a puller and it will be more than enough to cool your truck

also idk y you would want a push and pull fan. just 2 pullers would be idea.

You only need a good puller and a properley built shroud. The pusher in front will actually hinder cooling ability by blocking airflow.

Don't skimp on the shroud either - A good shroud will compliment a good fan and keep the temps right were they should be.

Make sure the electrical sytem is up to the task, alternator can handle the extra load and still charge the battery, and that you use relays and heavy gauge wire. This will help prolong the life of everything and keep you off the side of the highway.

the two ls1 fans push slightly more cfm than one mark viii fyi. 2 of them is overkill for your app but idk if the single will be enough. it may for a i6. but could be a issue on a v8.

Yes it is the famous Jeep fan and it is like a tornado when it is powered up. I bought a 2 row aluminum radiator and had the shroud custom made after a failed attempt at making a fiberglass one.
