Drivers door mirror location.

Did a search and couldnt find what i need. Does anyone have a pic with measurements for a 64 drivers mirror? The stock small, 3 hole mirror. PO filled in the holes on mine, need to drill out the filler and retap.

Re: Drivers door mirror location.

If you pull of the inside door cover, you can feel the nuts from the inside of the door. If you have a drill with an angeled head, you should be able to drill them out and then retap. Im sure that someone can get you external measurements from someone here too though.

Re: Drivers door mirror location.

I've heard that there are nuts on the inside of the passenger door as well. Does anyone know if a passenger side mirror can be installed in the same manner as described in post #2 above?

Thanks

Re: Drivers door mirror location.

Yes, the right side mirror can. The nuts are hit or miss, but I believe most trucks had the plate with the correct holes on the inside of the door. Mine did. I just had to use my own lock nuts.

Re: Drivers door mirror location.

FYI the dimensions provided above are for a 60-63. 64-66 mirror arms angle uphill toward the front. Post #14 on the attached thread may prove helpful:

Re: Drivers door mirror location.

They are 5/16x18. Early 1960 screws look like these with large serrated heads:

Later screws have smaller heads like these reproductions:

Originals look very similar but have a sharper edge around the rim of the head.
