Wheel Size Question

I started using my newly purchaed 69 CST and its driving me nuts looking at the wheels on the truck because they are so far inside the whell well. The truck is stock with 6 holes and I'm wondering are they 6 inch wide? I have a set of 6 hole 15 X 8 Rallys but don't want to use them on thsi truck. I also have a set of 80's 6 bolt 10 hole that are off a 4 x4 and they are mounted on the same size tires as my 69,( P235/75R15 ) and when I put them side by side the 10 holes dont look any wider than the original rims. I want to leave the 235/75's on the truck and am wondering if 15 x 8 are to wide for that tire.

I put a pic of the truck so you can see what I'm talking about.

Re: Wheel Size Question

A 235 section width is about 9.25", and a 8" wheel actually measure 9" including the bead. So it should be about the same width.

THey will work, but typically that size usually is seen on a 7", and because of the way 15" tires bulge on the sidewall, the 7" works better. No reason why you can't run them on a 8" though.
