Re: New to me 1967 Suburban!
I wouldn't do a darn thing to that thing, just a good scrub down and some TLC.

Re: New to me 1967 Suburban!
Nice find. Get those slots on the SuburBEAN for sure.
Will a 700R4 slip in behind that 292? Gotta love those cup holders. Bob |

Mags mounted up!
I probably have frost bite from scrubbing but definitely think the finished project was worth it. They cleaned up awesome with the first round of etching spray and scrubbing! Couldn't talk myself into scrubbing the whole rig down but that day is soon to come.
I am sure I will flood you all with questions as I get into this one. Thanks for your comments and excitement, they helped get me out on a cold day

Great looking burb, like everbody else said, you bet get your kid one heck of a treat. That's an awesome find. Gotta love all that crap that guys have done to these over the years like your front spare tire mount. Mine has some strange stuff done to her too.

Re: New to me 1967 Suburban!
Nice score! I would just scrub her down with CLR, lower it a bit and cruise the wheels off!!

Re: New to me 1967 Suburban!
Thanks, it does have a little cancer. Needs a 3rd door rocker and rear quarters are rotten on the bottom. For a lifetime resident of Utah it is as good as they come. They salt the roads here in the winter and most trucks end up floorless!
I will tackle the rust someday but for now it is a short list to get me driving it daily. I need to do some gas tank cleaning/replacement, carb tuning and find the correct alternator bracket for my straight 6. I found the owners manual and protectoplate book. Looks like she was sold here in Logan UT in July of 1967. Pretty cool that the dealership that sold it is still here as well. Posted via Mobile Device

Great buy. Those cup are marine cup holders. They don't spill your beverage when riding the waves. Sort of appropriate for our land yachts.

Re: New to me 1967 Suburban!
Have you seen the CLR thread on cleaning a patina'd vehicle? It may work good on your bean.

Thanks for the tip 71swb4x4, I thought the previous comment about CLR was a joke. I will hit the search function right now.

Re: New to me 1967 Suburban!
CLR is no joke bud....I just tried it on my 67 Chevelle, and it works. You will need clr of course, warm water, and scotch brite pads ( not the green one's, the red ones that are more course ). It will really surprize you bud. By the way, welcome to the Burb club! Nice find also!

Re: New to me 1967 Suburban!
I'm lovin the paint on your 'Burb! That's my all time favorite color on a Chevy truck, and that one is patina'd to perfection. Just perfect, and the slots set it off just right.

Re: New to me 1967 Suburban!
Okay, one huge step...... It is licensed and on the road! My new bumpers arrive tomorrow but I could not wait to throw my "special plates" on her. I have held onto these plates for a very long time, just waiting for the right 67' to wear them. I think they match great
