Re: bleeding brakes!?!?!

As I mentioned in my original post.... I had to take mine back twice and got my money back on the third failure. Went to another store and got a different brand, bench bled it exactly to directions and never had another problem.

Don't know if anyone mentioned, but when you have a booster getting a solid pedal without the engine running is normal. I always adjust my power brakes with the engine running.

Hope that solves your issues.

That is at least part of your problem. The "pin" is an indicator that the proportioning valve has "shut off" half of your brakes. The pressure is not equalized between front and rear, which cuts off the lower pressured side. This is to give you some braking power if you have a failure of some kind. (broken/leaking lines, wheel cylinder, etc)

You can't be getting fluid from one end or the other, so you need to equalize the pressure to get the pin re-centered. As bad as is sounds, the simplest way is to release the pressure from the "good" end. Nothing is going to work until you get the pin re-centered.

I am a fan of gravity bleeding. It costs nothing, is completely reliable, and solves the "pin popping" problem.

The great thing about being a pessimist is that you are either pleasantly surprised or right.
