Wiper motor seal...

I'm relubing my wiper motor and linkage and will replace the large tar washer I have on order. I was wondering if anyone knows who sells the seal pictured below or maybe have another method of sealing the wiper shaft.

Go to your local parts house and buy a package of 3M strip calk adhesive. Great stuff and will work great for the wiper motor.... Lots of other stuff too. WES

Re: Wiper motor seal...

Thanks, Wes. I might give that a try if I can't figure out a way to make one.

It's an umbrella type seal and I guess I could buy a motor if it ever gave out but just trying to do a little preventative stuff.

Re: Wiper motor seal...

I just bought a new motor from O'Reilly Auto Parts and it did not come with that seal. I just reused the original.

Sadly, mine is all cracked and brittle. This Texas sun is hard on plastic parts.

I'm still trying to come up with something to cover the shaft some.

Okay, I think I found something I can use. I have an extra umbrella type valve stem seal I'm cutting fit. The valve stem diameter is slightly smaller than the wiper motor shaft end but a tight fit is what I want.
