Speedometer fail!

Okay folks, driving out yesterday, I noticed my speedo wasn't working. Got back home and checked to see if it would still register by pulling the cable from the back. Leaving a bit of the end in it, the needle moves. Backed it down into the tranny and it locks or does not spin freely so it seems like it is seated inside the tranny speedo gear and that the gear is not free to spin either. This lets me also know that the cable is not broken either.

So all you 700R4 gurus out there, what am I missing? It has been working since the Bowtie OD was installed about 3 years ago. Appreciate your help and guidance!

Re: Speedometer fail!

my driven gear was broke in my 700 just take the piece that the cable plugs into and inspect the driven gear you should be able to see the drive gear on the shaft too.

I was hoping it wasn't something internal to the rear of the tranny. We will see!
