My new 1966 "Wrong bed"

Here is my new 1966 C10 "Wrong bed" (Long Stepper). It's hard getting used to the long step but, maybe when it's dropped I'll feel different about it. Hoser (Jchav62) is going to school me on a 3/5 drop in the (hopefully) near future. It's got a 350, with a 4 speed, (soon to be a TH400) Thanks to Hoser (Jchav62) Name: 5.jpg

Re: My new 1966 "Wrong bed"

We used to say "Two wrongs don't make a right" when we saw these trucks... because we are both fans of short/fleets... Now I have a longbed '67 and you have a long/step '66... how times change. I can't wait to work on the truck and have some coldies in the process! I'm glad you're back in action bro!

same here...love the long step more than the short steps. Then again I like oddballs. A long step is sort of an oddball that doesn't make a whole lot of sense.

Fleetsides and longbeds always looked more proportioned to me. Nothing wrong with that truck, looks good.

Re: My new 1966 "Wrong bed"

Excellant buy, you did great, it would be nice to see a dropped long ss, the only other thing I would change is the master cylinder to a dual master....welcome to the site.

Re: My new 1966 "Wrong bed"

Love it! I have a long stepper too. I just recently decided to leave the bed and not swap it to a long fleet. I mean, how many long steppers do you see on the road anymore?? lol

I would trade my long Fleetside bed for a long stepper in a heart beat.

Re: My new 1966 "Wrong bed"

I have one too (extra long bed) but it sure doesn't look that good. The carpet! The body! Nobody used that truck too hard that's for sure. Or if there is a build I would like to see it. Very nice.

Re: My new 1966 "Wrong bed"

I like it! Long steppers aren't too common. It would be cool to put something in the step area like an old gas can or something like that.

Re: My new 1966 "Wrong bed"

Nice. Question. I have the same bumper on my 64. A friend told me that he thought it was an option for the ones that came with a DUMP bed. Is that right? From what I see mine is the same. Gor pics of from the back?
