Re: K-30 Truck Value

I hate putting a price on some one elses truck..its clear to see you put a ton of labor and hard earned money into it. We never build these trucks to make a profit and from the looks of yours you probably never had any intention of selling. You've gotta have well over 30k in it, just hope in todays economy you can recoup most of what you have invested. It only takes one person..your best chance is probably Ebay...lots of detailed pics and maybe a video attached to the auction with your minimum as a reserve.

Re: K-30 Truck Value

The color is iredescent blue

I never thought I would sell, but it really just doesnt fit life right now where a chevy II would (I THINK).

I was planning on listing it for $25K

Re: K-30 Truck Value

I'd say just pay attention to all the fees from ebay. But overall yeah that probably is your best bet. The nice thing about yours is it is not too over the top in customization. I could see many people liking that truck. It sure is purdy.

Re: K-30 Truck Value

$25k sounds good. I would make a list of the "problems" and get them all ficed before you sell it. This includes the two small bubbles and the spot where the screw went through. Make it perfect before you sell it. It's super clean, fix those little problems.

Re: K-30 Truck Value

You're right on with the price. And I agree, don't leave any small items unfixed. Make it as good as it looks. The $25G market is a turn-key market.

Re: K-30 Truck Value

Don't know if it helps..

A co worker just sold (last Fall) a '72 K-10 that was turn key. All rot was cut out and fixed with steel. Lift, wheels, tires, built 350, built tranny, mint interior, great truck inside and out.

He tried Ebay ( I helped him) he went through 3 auctions with buyers "Falling through" for various reasons.

Eventually he paid ($100-$150?) for an add on Classic Chevy Trader or something like that.....it was a website and magazine.

Took about two months, sold for around $15K.

Just FYI

Re: K-30 Truck Value

One of my technics for selling vehicles on ebay that I use is to list 'auction' style first with reserve (gives you an "idea" of market value... and I use that term loosely). I normally start my auctions out at .99 to create a stir or interest and get people bidding and following it right away.
List it for seven days (otherwise the fees jump up a lot for the extra three days to list for 10).
During the seven day auction you'll get a following of 'groupies'. Those groupies are potential buyers, and those that just want to follow your auction for price ideas for themselves.
If it doesn't sell with your reserve met, then I list again this time with a 'buy it now' price with 'best offer' available for potential buyers to send along.

Most of your 'groupies' that were following the first auction will come along for the 'buy it now' ride. Which could lead into more potential buyers bidding against each other, and picking up a few more potential buyers that may have missed out on seeing your truck the first week.

I have had the best luck doing that on all my vehicles that I've sold on ebay.

The reason I used that term loosely regarding market value is because I listed my '72 burban on there that way. Auction style final bid reached $2200. 'Buy it now' auction the following week it sold for $4900.

One last thing that I would do to keep peoples interest was lowering my 'buy it now' price daily by a few hundred dollars. Just another technic that I've used that I believe worked for my burban. I just lowered it down and this guy jumped all over it like a starved fish.

Hope that helps out for you. Good luck with your sell.
