Another Carburetor Help Thread…but I really need it.

I need some help in trying to solve some issues that I’m having with my recently “rebuilt” carburetor.
First I will say that I had the carb rebuilt by this certain shop. The guy has not been able to get it right and I have to keep going back to. I am certain that it will be a while before it is completely fixed and running good but I paid and so I will keep going back.

But I need you alls help for now so that I can gain some knowledge so when I am dealing with the guy I can argue the points.

Now, looking at pic #7, is there supposed to be a hose hooked up to this  and if so what does it do or not do not having it there?

In pic #1 as you can see, the vacuum advanced is not plugged but it has a screw plugging the hose. Is this going to affect it for now? I tried hooking it back and when I did, the RPMs went up. What do I need to do with this to make it as right?

In pic #6, what the arrow points to (don’t know what it is called), but from what I know I think it is controlled by the choke and as the truck warms up it should slide down and bring the idle down well it is not sliding down and it takes a very long time unless I push it down but if I give it gas it goes back up and stays there. Why is this happening?

Last in pic #3 the hard ling is cracked, I need to replace it but where can I buy it. Is it just a regular part from any auto parts store? Thanks for any help and knowledge you can provide.

Truck is an 85 1/2t 305/350 and getting 10 miles per gl…anybody know of any good reliable shops in middle GA area to fix all this?

Pic 7, that is the choke pull off, looks like the hose is hooked where it should be on the side. Start the engine it should pull open the choke a little, they go bad alot and are needed.
Pic 1, that is the vacuum advance should be hooked up and should raise the idle a bit, readjust the idle if is too fast, have the igition timing checked. That will defenitly afect mileage and power without it
Pic 6, that is your fast idle cam, should drop down as the choke warms up, possable choke set too tight, check for 12V at the wire. Clean it with a little carb cleaner and lube it up with some WD40, might help it.
Pic 3, egr valve doesnt have to be hard line just rubber will work, not really going to hurt anything not working but make sure there is no vacuum leak

I know but the guy has been open for year and so I thought he wold be able to do the job.

forgive my lackof knowledge but with regards to the fast idle cam, what do u mean by possibly too tight. And u mean clean the cam linkage itself.

yes clean the cam and linkage near it. The choke element (the black thing with the wire to it) is adjustable, it make the choke flap close. Turning it clockwise leans the choke,or makes it so the flap doesn't close as tight. Loosen the three little screws that hold it on to adjust it. There are some notches on the carb and usually a line on the choke element used to guage the adjustment. Start in the center notch, should work ok in the warm weather of Georgia
