Brake cable
Another question for anyone who can answer it:
I'm reconstructing a parking brake system for my 71 SWB small block with TH 400 trans. Reason I mention all of that is that it seems to matter when ordering the the "inter cable" in the assembly. LMC truck has different ones according to the model and length of the truck, and even specifies transmission and engine in differentiating them. And guess what, they don't have one for my model truck with the engine/trans combo I have. Anyone know if one of the others will fit? |

Re: Brake cable
The intermediate cable for a TH-400 will be shorter then the other intermediate cables since the TH 400 cross member is mounted rearward of the TH-350 transmission cross member. Also the TH 400 cross member has cable guides attached to it as shown in the picture. I have the same setup as you are looking into and I plan to shorten an intermediate cable as necessary.

Re: Brake cable
Hey Jim:
Thanks for the message. Really cleared things up. On closer inspection, it looks like I have the TH-350, instead of the 400. The build sheet says Turbo-hydramatic M49 code. Best we can tell it means 350. is that right? |
