96 chevy 1500 motor swap 5.7 vortec
k i put a 5.7 vortec motor out of a 99 gmc yukon in a 96 chevy 1500
i am having a problem getting it to fire to the plugs i was told that the yukon had a security ignition that the 96 doesnt have and i was wondering if that was true if so i was wondering if there was a way to by pass the security i am using the computer and wiring out of the 99 yukon i am lost and need some kind of help |

If the 99 has a VATS the only way I now around it is to have the ECM re-flashed to have it removed.

I tried calling a couple places and no one could tell me if they flashed it if it would even work
but would i get it flashed for the 96 or the 99 and have them just bypass the vats ? |

It need s to be set up to run the 99 but with the VATS removed.
There are companies that can do it and modify the engine harness to be a stand alone for the engine. These guys can rework yours. http://www.wait4meperformance.com/ This is who I used for a new harness for my project. http://www.psiconversion.com/ Kim |
