Moog control arm shaft holes bigger than stock?

Got the Moog K 6098 cross shafts and the holes to mount to crossmember are 5/8 instead of 1/2 inch like the factory ones. What do you all do about that? Anyone ever got the Chinese ones from LMC are they the same as factory?

3/4 & 1-ton use the larger diameter studs. 1/2 tons utilize the 1/2" studs.

They have this part number labeled as a C10. I have looked other places an they all say half ton. Does Moog make one that is NOT larger diameter or does anyone know where to get the smaller one? Or is there a bushing to put in there that takes up the slack?

Google search indicates the 6098's as C10 & 6135's as C30. I'd check the 6135's just to see if there's a difference.

We're the threads messed up on your originals? That's the only wearable on the shafts so if the threads were ok, I'd re-use the shafts w/the new bushings.

Maybe the place I got them from sent me the wrong ones by accident. Will check closer. Yes the ones I got had really screwed up threads on one of the cross shafts. The other one was fine. The grease zerks were broken off for many years it appeared and there was a lot of wear. I really like the way the Moog ones looked, looked really good quality. Y

There was another thing I noticed about the Moog parts in your build thread pics....

The early trucks (pre-73) C10 a-arm shafts were 'flat' on both sides of the shaft. The 73-87's were flat on one side, concaved on the opposite side, & used convex spacers on the studs.

Thanks again SCOTI, I went out on a limb and ordered the exact same part number off of Amazon because I figured that there was no way that the part I had was correct after what you said. The part I got from Amazon was only 27 buck with free shipping (versus 45 dollars PLUS 8.99 shipping from Energysuspensionparts.com) and is a perfect replacement. I would have otherwise blindly gone and tried to make the 3/4 or 1 ton one work. Love this forum!

So the original p/n was correct & someone put the wrong part in the box?

Yes sirree. The Moog K 6098 is correct and matches the stock 1/2 perfectly. The box even said 6098 but physically it was not what was inside the box. The new one which also was labeled Moog K 6098 IS the right one. I think that like you said they must have slipped in the 3/4 ton one or something. The worst part is that the place I got them from will not reimburse me for my original shipping OR the return shipping either. So that sucks.
