66 Long tire size HELP!!!!!!

Need help guys, I picked up a project few weeks ago and have been busy digging through the boxes of stuff and putting together what I can. I am on a budget and blew the wad on truck so I have to make some tuff calls to stay on budget. The truck came with steel wheels and would love to order a set of nice Foose wheels but the budget just is not there. I sand blasted the wheels and painted them with hammed black and will just run them this year and save up for new ones next year. The tires I got are junk and I will need to get a set this year. The wheels are 6x15 fronts and 8X15 rears. Any suggestions on tire sizes? The truck has lowering kit front and looks like blocks in the back, it sets low. I will post some pick so you can get an idea what I have. I am off today and may go tire shopping. Any help would be great. Thanks, Ron

Re: 66 Long tire size HELP!!!!!!

Part of the equation for the rear will depend on which rear end you have. I have a 72 5 lug which if I remember correctly are 3/4" wider per side than the stock rear end. I'm running 275/70/15 BFG Longtrails on the rear and can't put them on or remove them w/o dropping my shocks and coil springs loose. PITA! I have 255/70 BFG T/A's on the front and have considered moving those to the rear and putting 235's on the front. My rims are 15x8 rear and 15x7 front, GM truck Rallye wheels. Good luck shopping
