when you cut a coil spring not heat it it will increase the load capacity and make it ride horrible......now i do have a c-20 so the springs are heavy duty! i am saving up for a 5 lug and air bags

Here is a pic of the truck with cut coils before I started all the work. It rode great. Maybe the 3/4 tons dont I have no idea on that. but the 1/2 tom with 1.5 or 2 coil cut rode fine. Been too long to know how much I trimmed off.
