Header?

I asked this in the racing section but seeing as it's an LS 2 I'll ask here also.

I've got an LS2 going in my project. It's rated at 400/400 from the factory.
I'm looking at 2 different sets of headers.

http://www.sandersonheaders.com/Sand...s-Engines.html
These have 1-5/8 tubes with a 3" collector.

http://www.sandersonheaders.com/Sand...eader-Set.html
These I can get with a 1-3/4 tube with a 3" collector.

Is there going to any difference on a street driven engine with the smaller primary tubes?
Thanks for any input.
Kim

Re: Header?

You got me... on shorties with 1/8" difference in primaries, but the same collector.
I guess the question might be, would you loose anything down low by running the 1 3/4"?

Re: Header?

Not sure if the links are working for you guys but the 1st set are LS10 and the second set are LS134.
Everything I've seen on the LS engines shows that they prefer the larger primaries.
The stock do fine with 1-3/4 and if you do any performance mods the 1-7/8 seems to be the way to go.
I know that on the street for low end torque smaller primaries was always the way to go.
It seems the LS may be a little different.

Right now I'm leaning toward the larger tubes.

Re: Header?

I'm running 1 7/8" x 3" long tubes on my 6.0L.

As far as WOT.....sure, the larger primaries should do better.
