Heater Control Knobs and Levers

My 63' truck has all the heater control knobs missing, it looks like the tabs have snapped off the levers. I have been looking around, mostly on Ebay until I actually get some catalogs to look through, and can't seem to find these replacement units. The knobs are cheap but the arms are hard to find. Saw one guy selling a hole unit with a starting price of $150...Options here? Are the readilly available and inexpensive? Has anyone tried to fab their own? They look fairly easy to make if you used the old ones as patterns..

Re: Heater Control Knobs and Levers

Chevy Duty sells the lever set with knobs. These are steel replacements so they should last much longer than originals.

And here’s the switch:

Americanclassic.com shows the same levers under part number HAC-125:

The blower switch is part # HBSW60 @ $38.00 on the same page.

I’ve had good service from both of these companies, and I’m sure the other usual suppliers carry similar parts.

Here’s what the original pot metal part looks like so you can tell them apart. The hub and pin are part of the arm:

Re: Heater Control Knobs and Levers

Thank, the heater is not opperational and has been low on my list. I saw someone's post on the wiring diagram which will help a lot when I start to deal with it. I have not even tried to move the levers, although I have to get up under the dash to do so. I plan on going through all the cables and pivot points and lube up the entire thing. It looks like an expensive time consuming project but heat/defrost is mandatory...

Re: Heater Control Knobs and Levers

Its not that bad. Will take about 30min to disassemble and about the same to rebuild the entire unit. The parts are fairly inexpensive and like stated above, the new ones are stamped steel as opposed to the pot metal used on the original, so they will last longer.
