One piece windows for 67-72

New to the forum, so if I have posted in the wrong area I apologize. I have looked at the one piece window conversion kits and have read through the forums at the good\bad experiences with them.

Here is the question that I have and I am sure someone has attempted it and maybe even succeeded. Who has tried to build their own one piece kits and what are the hurdles\successes you had doing it.

Thanks to everyone that post on here. I have found stuff dating way back that has helped me with my 68 GMC!

Also Check out You Tube. There is an install series about 5 videos long that shows you all the tricks and covers entire installation.

Re: One piece windows for 67-72

I have done the search and found all kinds of things on the "KITS". Maybe I missed something in my search or did not explain myself clearly. I do NOT want to use a kit and was wondering if anyone has tried to make their own? With the glass being flat I can get them made cheap, I was just wondering if anyone has tried to do their own window track and extend the window support. The price for the kits are too rich for my budget right now. I can go to a salvage and pull parts cheap.

Thanks again forum members and I apologize if I missed something here.

I have the brothers kit, not yet installed. It makes use of factory parts for the window tracks and guides. While the kit contents are very basic, I think it would be a real time consuming PITA to piece it all together and make the triangles for the front of the window. Just my opinion anyway.

I've never seen anyone try to make to make their own. If you attempt it, be sure to post details with lots of pics. Also, let us know how much it costs compared to the kits.

Re: One piece windows for 67-72

A few months back there was a magazine article where they were doing a custom one piece windows. I think it was in Custom Classic Trucks.
