Re: My First frame up Resto. 70 Chev
A little story here. This was in our familiy since 1974. Was my dad's first farm truck in 74. When I started High school it was my first truck in 1979. Back when I first had it I replaced the engine with a junk yard engine and rear end. After 1980 I sold it my uncle who drove it for about 5 years. Then it sat around the farm for about 10 years before I painted the brown here. It sat for another 10 years after the paint job. Then my son asked about fixing it up again, so here we are now!! Has alot of work to do. Stopped after the body shops wanted $5000.00 just to replace the floor, inner/outer rockers, etc. So just a few days ago we bought another 1970 Chev c10 for $1300.00 which has a decent cab/box which will we install on this new frame resto until I can save for the original cab to be repaired and new box. a few pics of the parts truck we got on Good Friday.. Has no engine but I don 't need one. So far this build has cost approx $25,000.00, not to good of an investment.

Re: My First frame up Resto. 70 Chev
So far what we did to the frame was powdercoat. Converted to four wheel disck brakes with 2.5" front drop and 3" back drop. Truck was also converted from 4speed manual trans to 700r4. Old truck had no power sterring or power brakes now it will have. Bought new doors , inner and outer fenders new rad support, new complete floor, rockers etc for a complete cab rebuild. Complete new wiring kit, new tilt sterring column, front and back bumpers and numerous interior parts. The engine is the GM 350 290 hp version. Rear end rebuilt to 3:73 posi and also power coated.
