Removable Mirrors for Towing Travel Trailers

You guys have been a help in so many areas with my truck that I got to say another Thanks!

I'm hoping one of you guys have seen a creative way to mount removable trailer mirrors that won't damage my truck in any way. I would like to pull a small travel trailer once in a while but my tiny stock mirrors just ain't gona do. I looked at those old style fender mount mirrors but the space between the top of the fender-well and the hood opening is onle about 9 inches; not really enough space to form a good tripod.

Have any of you come up with or seen a creative way to mount temporary mirrors like I've described? The only other thought I've had is to purchase a couple of stock mirrors, cut-off the glass portion, drill & tap for some kind of brackets to mount mirrors to the stock base that stick-out farther. Then all I would need to do is un-screw three screws to chang-out the mirrors. Weard idea, eh?

I'd love to hear feed-back on this one... thanks in advance.
