Three gas tanks?
Y'all take a look at this ebay ad and tell me if all these gas tanks were factory or a dealer add on.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1972-...item35bb3e99db I've never seen a Blazer with three. |

Re: Three gas tanks?
Those saddle tanks are aftermarket. The pics don't show it, but the tanks are most likely located below the door openings. The factory rocker boxes (torsion boxes) are most likely cut out to make room for the tanks. This is no problem if you plan to never remove the top. But if the top comes off, the body will have a lot of flex and the doors will not close properly since the integrity of the body structure was compromised when the rocker boxes were cut out. Just a heads up if you are planning on bidding.

Re: Three gas tanks?
Having studied the underside of my Blazer pretty intently looking for places to attach a cage, I was wondering where they put the aux. tanks at.

Re: Three gas tanks?
I have three tanks - stock plus two Hickey Side Saddle tanks. Mine are mounted in the bed behind the rear wheel wells.
Some tanks were dealer installs, but there were aftermarket tanks too. I agree with cleszkie, this one appears to have the kind that are mounted where the torsion boxes were.
