Couple new mods-
Getting closer and closer finishing up my truck from a frame up. I started back in April and hopefully finishing up during x-mas. Anyway here are a couple mods I did this week:
Installed my clear 12 bolt cover, my truck is real low so you more than likely wont see it unless you crawl under and look but I thought it was cool - Also installed this Aeroforce Interceptor Scan gauge. I had been searching for a scan tool and ran across this. It is so cool! It solved my speedo problem as well as gives me a continual scan of my 7.4L Vortec... Plus it looks perfect with the rest of my gauges! You can check it out at: http://www.aeroforcetech.com/products_interceptor.html Sorry the pics are kinda bad- More to come! |

Re: Couple new mods-
I've never seen a clear cover either, makes checking fluid level a little easier!

Re: Couple new mods-
Im going to try to drop a LED light down in the housing. I think I can go down the vent tube or through the side fill hole. Well thats the plan....

Re: Couple new mods-
What about the start/run switch? Which vehicle was it sourced from? Was it hard to install? Thanks, Jon

Re: Couple new mods-
The start/run switch came from a 2010 Hyundai Sonata, it wasnt to hard to wire. I had to figure out the wiring on my own cause I couldnt find a diagram online. I might could have gone to the Hyundai dealership and got it but I figured it out. A couple relays and 4 wires off the switch is all it took to get it working. I have it wired to my GPS alarm start mode. A button has to be pushed on the remote to turn on the start/stop button so it will work....Im so tired of wiring- and still not done. Im taking a break from wiring for awhile, trying to get some of the interior and exhaust done this weekend...

Just ordered me one for the 71. Thanks tonypaul,
for the info. I had always thought about one. Here is the link for them. They say there on clearance so you may want to order it pretty quickly. http://www.shopatron.com/products/pr...er=8410/1526.0

Re: Couple new mods-
I'd like to see a video of the gears going from stopped, to driving speed with the clear cover Especially with an LED in it. It'd be cool until it splashes oil all over it and you couldn't see anything anymore, but it'd be fun to watch until then.

Re: Couple new mods-
Well, when I get mine installed I'll put my Gro pro camera to use and we will see what it looks like if I can find a good mounting spot for it.
