GM gov lock?

I have the centerpin out, but my question , is how to get the clips off the axles to remove them? Is there another pc in the center, that needs to come out, before the clips will drop? crazyL

Re: GM gov lock?

By center pin I assume you mean the pin that the spider gears are on. Now just push the axles in and the c clips will fall out then pull the axle shafts out.

To reinstall them use a magnet and pull the axle shaft outward to set them.

Re: GM gov lock?

Too bad she is still a gov bomb....the back lash checks @ .007 on the tight spot, & .009 on the loose spot(good to go!). Its a daily driver, that I dont beat on.....& the diff came out of a parts truck , that dont owe me chit A set of axle bearings & seals, fresh lube, & a couple dust plates.....probably put a little "kick" on my old hauler.....step on the gear, & drive a little slower crazyL
