Out with the old, in with the new..er
Decided my 62 was to much of a project to take on and picked up this 65 long instead. I wasnt making much progress with the day to day business of life(house/fam/kids/ect). This is a much easier project for me and drivable. Everyone keeps laying into me about the "long bed" but its what i wanted before I picked up the 62 originally. lots of ideas for the new one though! Tell me what you guys think!?

Re: Out with the old, in with the new..er
I know how everyone likes pics on here! It has a 350/350 combo, checked the numbers on the block says its a 1970 out of a vette. seems to run strong. Has a powersteering leak, and an oil leak.....somewhere. Working on getting it cleaned up so I can see where its coming from. The undercarriage is a mess, hasnt been cleaned in forever it looks like and there is a build up of oil all over it. Slapped a fresh coat of linseed in the bed.
Threw a pic of the 62 in just for fun |

Looks solid and for the longbed thats what i wanted also before i got my 62. I even tried to trade it for a longbed but no calls.lol I would throw those big whites on the longbed and lower it and call it done. Just sayin.

Looks like a beautiful truck. So are you going to hang on to the 62 as well, or let it go and concentrate on the 65?

Re: Out with the old, in with the new..er
As much as I would like to keep both, I'm gonna let the 62 go. Already have several people interested. I have the 2 old trucks in the garage and the 2 newer cars parked in the driveway! Gotta make some room!

I've already bought a slew of parts for the 65 so I'll keep posting pics. The drop kit just cam in yesterday from cpp, 3/5 deluxe kit. Plus a bunch of polished parts for under the hood, and a vinyl mat, sound deadened ect ect for the interior. Ill keep you guys posted

I think it has potential for sure. The clear coat is all peeling off the hood and roof and also the top of the bedsides. Wondering if I should let it patina out or get the top half repainted. I also would like to two-tone the trim and the lid.

nice 65 there, both are sweet trucks, Im like you, to keep both of them but sometimes you just can't have that many toys. They take time and money.

Re: Out with the old, in with the new..er
Steve62, On another note... What size are your wheel AND tires? I shopping right now and am leaning towards 15X8's.... With a tall wide tire to fill up the void.... You have the look I'm leaning towards... Thanks for any info!! Cww

Re: Out with the old, in with the new..er
The tires are 255/70/15, wheels are 15x8. Rides nice with the extra meat on the tires.
