1990 Suburban 2500 for 4wd to 2wd reference

Is there any difference in the the 2wd suspension from a 2500 Suburban that will hinder me from using it as reference for a 4wd to 2wd conversion on a 86 Jimmy? I plan on installing a Porterbuilt dropmember and components in the Jimmy so i wont actually use anything off of the Suburban, just need it for measurements.

If you are planning on doing a 1/2 ton Blazer then I would say "yes".

The 3/4 ton 2wd suspension and the 1/2 ton 2wd suspension are entirely different animals.

I would say no. I wouldn't trust it enough to make any committing decisions.

They're both 2wd - that's where the similarity ends.

Different frames, different crossmembers, different A arms, different brake sizes, different packaging, etc.

cant you just swap lower control arms, spindles, brakes between the two to have one or the other?

I don't think so.

I could be wrong but I think the frame shape and control arm attaching points are different between the two.
