Serpintine belt system lower hose

All I can find about a part number for the lower radiator hose is a Gates 20842. But the info on it says the one end is 1 1/2 " I need 1 3/4" on both end. I tried an auto zone 70664 but it is too short at the water pump end. 67 c10 350. Anyone have a good p/n? Thanks

Re: Serpintine belt system lower hose

Not sure this will help but I have the GM serp system on my 72 and I use the stock hose.

Re: Serpintine belt system lower hose

The only one they show for a 72 that has 1 3/4" ends is only 12 3/4" long and that is way to short I think. PN D71337 autozone

If you have the right length and it's only the size at the end you can buy a sleeve that fits over the rad fitting and enlarges to the right size. I did that so that my newer rad fits my existing hosing. NAPA has these, Good year makes them too.

Re: Serpintine belt system lower hose

If you are running a serpentine set-up, you should be using a reverse rotation water pump, so wouldn't it already be the correct size, or am I thinking wrong?

Re: Serpintine belt system lower hose

I ended up with a E70664 from auto zone. The end that goes on the water pump didn't drop down far enough before the bend so used short piece of exhaust pipe with a short piece of hose on it and then put the E70664 hose on it. The end that goes on the radiator was too long so cut it and that is the piece that went on the water pump.

Re: Serpintine belt system lower hose

If you go cross country with a setup like that and say you need a new idler pullie or alt mid trip. Can you find part's for it? Or would you have to order them.

Re: Serpintine belt system lower hose

Glad it worked out, I think that belt is on the wrong side of the idler, at least mine is on the other side and is correct for my application.

As for serpentine related parts (idlers, alt, PS pump, water pump, Clutch fan, AC compressor, etc) one would order or buy parts for the model the serpentine was removed from, in my case 1992 C/K 1500.

Re: Serpintine belt system lower hose

Are you referring to the serpintine setup or the hose setup. Besides that, at the price of gas it won't be going on any long trips.

Re: Serpintine belt system lower hose

The belt is on the right side for this setup. Here is the one I have on the engine.
