LMC Truck Billet Dash Panel help

Hey so recently I bought a brush aluminum billet dash panel for my 83 lwb, it's the one with A/C on this website: http://www.lmctruck.com/features/cc/CCBDP.htm

I can't figure out how to install this thing because it doesn't seem to curve as much as it should to fit on the dash pad. Am I supposed to take the whole dash pad off and take the little black piece where the dash panel will go to off?

Thanks,

Reziel

I don't think I really understand the question but I'll take a stab at it anyway. To get the insert off there is some nuts holding it on from the back. And you should be able to get to them by just removing the glovebox but then again the AC vents might be in the way and it might be easier to just take the dashpad off.

I am pretty sure the billet piece is designed to replace the factory plastic piece.

Oh okay, so I guess that it doesn't just screw on to the piece already there, I need to take the original insert out.

I purchased the same one, you have to remove the original. You also need to fabricate attachment spots for the air ducts behind the dash. They originally attached with the hardware used to attach the original trim piece.

Do you happen to have any pictures of how you made attachment spots for the air ducts behind the dash?

Re: LMC Truck Billet Dash Panel help

I should be receiving mine very soon and I will post some pics of the install. Mine will be going over a vinyl cover so the fit will be a little tighter...
