Smile Brake Problem

69 Chevy C10 307, 700Trans. Had brakes done less than 1000 miles ago. Brakes recently started pulsing when coming to a stop. Pulled rear drums and everything looks fine.
Tried to pull front drums and can't get off because shoes are so tight on drums. No slot in drum or back of brakes to loosen shoes. Assume they are self adjusting.
How do I get front drums off? Do you think over tight front drums could cause pulsing?

Try removing the outer wheel bearing nut and remove the bearing. You may be able to get some movement to remove the drum.

forgot to add... Pulsing may be caused by warped/bent drums, shoes out of round or contiminant soaked.

If you had the brakes done by a shop, seems like they should still be under some sort of warranty. If you had them done by a someone else, ask them if they turned the drums.

If you have to, force them off and then check to see if they have a ridge. If they're not too thin a shop can turn them fairly cheap. I had mine done for $7.50 each last year.
