how to check your air conditioner compressor
I am in the middle of a frame off on my 79 and was wondering how to check the compressor before I install it

The only real way to check the compressor, I think, is to run it installed on the system and ensure that the pressures are up to manufacturer's specs. I suppose you could pull it apart but chances are if you've never done it before, you won't know what to look for and I'll bet it won't be easy finding an overhaul manual for one. Just my .02 cents.
