I'm in the same situation. I want to swap windshields. However, judging by how much work it is to do and the high chance of breaking it, it might be better to have someone replace it. I was quoted $120 for a new windshield.

The windshields are so cheap for these it is really not worth it to buy one and put it in yourself. Just find a glass shop and get it done. Even if you have a used windshield you had given to you, it's worth the $40 or whatever they'll charge to have them swap it out for you. What takes them 10 minutes will take you an hour or more and a lot of cussing and possibly buying another glass.

I agree. I tried to install a windshield in my '71, ended up breaking it, and then buying another. needless to say, the glass company installed the next one.
Bought my '85 burb with a busted windshield, never even considered installing myself. I paid around $200 for the glass company to bring it to my house and install it. Flat glass? Yeah, I'll do that all day long. Windshields? Nah, let some else deal with that headache.
