congrats on the new toy.the transmission pan is easy to fix. drain it first then remove all the bolts around it and remove. nothing else will fall out, take your old filter most likely held in place with 2 bolts out. take it to your auto parts store to match up with a new 1. Pick up pan gasket while there. Reinstall with new fluid and walla you just serviced your first transmission. On the heater hose you can use a piece of pipe and connect the 2 together. you will not have any heat but you don't now. so no harm no foul. enjoy the work and the new truck.
