I converted a spare stepside fender to non-spare.

fit in the corresponding portion of my old fender (which was shot at flange area) and welded it.

and with some filler I think (at least I hope) that it will look like an original fender.

That look's pretty good!!! I think your way of doing it was much faster than the way they did it on truck's a few week's ago...
