k10 speedomter jumps at higher speeds

when i hit 56 to 60 the speedomter jumps back and forth, what does this mean ? is it anything serious or is it just a problem with the speedomter?

It could be a problem with the speedometer but it is probably a problem with the speedometer cable.

Lube the cable or get a new cable. They are not expensive so I would opt for a new one. That's what I did because I would get a terrible schreeching noise all the time and I could not tell my speed because it always bounced around.

Check the speedo drive and pinion gear,they may be worn.

before you spend any money on anything lube the cable..99.999% of the time it fixes the problem...
