CPP Trac Bar: Shim Neccesary for blocked truck?

Hi Everyone,

Im almost finished installing my CPP trac bar on my 67 C10. My truck is dropped in the back with blocks and already has a shim. Is it really necessary to use the provided shim for the left trac bar? It's starting to have too many layers....How much difference would it make to not use it? Thanks for any help.

I just talked to CPP. They feel that the shim is really needed. I guess I already knew that, but I was just hoping that a small shim didn't matter.

I'll put the other shim in today.

I would think by not using the shim and keeping the axle level in relation to each arm mount, you would end up putting a "twist" into the suspension and possibly causing some binding. Smart move to put the shim in as instructed.

Yeah, that's good advise. Putting in the shim was actually a lot easier than putting on the bracket on the right trailing arm. Looking back, it was kind of a stupid question. I was just hoping and being lazy, which never did anyone any good...
