14 BFF Finally!!

Well Thursday I got my 14 Bolt installed. It went a lot easier than I expected. I welded new spring pads and shock mounts on a couple of months ago, but never got around to rolling the axle under. The only thing I need to do now is make the ebrake cables hook up. I knew the old 12 bolt was bent, but it was quite evedent when I rolled it out just how big the bend was. You can see the bend in the tube, and the inside of the back tires are wore down to the cords. Well, I guess now I just need to put the HD Dana 44 under the front and I will be set.

Re: 14 BFF Finally!!

I have 4:11 gears in the 14 bolt, which are better than the 3:07's that were in the 12 bolt. I am happy, I think tommorrow I will put the 44 under it and have it done for awhile.

Re: 14 BFF Finally!!

If your rear axle was bent that bad you should notice a Big difference in the way the truck drives and handles now. And your really going to Love that new 44 your putting under the front...open knuckle and disc brakes is one of the best upgrades you can make to one of these old trucks!! Let us know how it turns out.
