Hood airplane
I found this truck, it has been sitting for at least a year in this parking lot. It is a custom cab with the chrome dash knobs and this hood plane..... the rest is pretty much shot!
Is this the correct hood plane for a 65'ish C10?

Re: Hood airplane
It fits nice, but it's not "correct". To the best of my knowledge there were only two birds for the 60-66 hoods. One has a longer nose and one is shorter. I also believe they were both designed for the jet pod hood, although many owners have installed them on the 62-66 hood.
If someone knows otherwise please advise.

Re: Hood airplane
Yes. Post #201 on the following thread provides a list and reference for a bunch of names for the 60-61 hoods:

Re: Hood airplane
There are some vehicles that "broke the mold" with these though. My Suburban a 61 GMC, has the correct 60-61 stub nose jet on a later style 62+ hood. But it also has custom trim that didn't start until 62.
