I bet is was underdash a/c.

I discovered my truck used to have under dash A/C also. My floor board had the same hole. I used a rotabroach to get rid of the flaring and then inserted a nice thick grommet. Good for now since one side is covered by carpet and the other is covered by the inner fender.

Thats a pretty good idea. And that way in the future if you ever had to run anything through that side, your grommet is there

Aftermarket under dash AC. Got one with a grommet and one looks like a bullet hole. Your earlier post made me look.
