Anyone got pics of nice ones?? I have a line on a decent 56 I might be able to pick up cheap, and use as a parts chaser.

I'm biased towards long beds, maybe because I have one shown in my avatar.

Ogre, both of mine are 92" beds or 7'6" inside. The red one above looks like a 9' bed.
Late '57 they came out with the 96" bed. I believe the the step for the 92" and 96" beds are the same. The 9' bed most likely is different. Rude Dude, Function is what I was after with those stop / tail, signal, back up lights. I just had stop / tail lights when I installed a turn signal/4 way flasher switch. |

Not trying to hijack the thread, but I have a long bed question after looking at these pictures. When I get around to fixing my truck I was considering lopping off the long portion of the bed that extends past the rear fender to shorten it up a little as I'm not crazy about the look of that area as is. In the above pics it looks like that is how some of those trucks already are, having different lengths of the bed past the rear fender edge. Were there different model long bed configurations or have these trucks been modified? I would guess the frame would have a be a little shorter too?

Here's mine. Sorry for the lousy pictures.
It's an original 8 foot box truck. The bed came from a '63 Forest Service pickup and the fenders were originally about 7-8" farther back with a longer step to match. I thought it was a 9' bed at first glance. |
