Draining the coolant from the block (ls)?
There appears to be core plugs ,1 over the starter, & 1 down front low on the front, driver side. I dont see any drain plugs ,or petcocks , like on the old gen I. The question is, do these come out fairly easy, or do they require some heat? crazyL

Re: Draining the coolant from the block (ls)?
Ok, nobody else knew......so I will tell you! The front lh side is an oil passage. The rh side above the starter, came out, no issues(other than pukin 1/2 of the coolant on the garage floor). The left hand side, was a brass plug....I could not get that one to move! I will turn it upside down, as reccomended by the guys at Carshop inc in Moline, Il, to drain.. The gen I cast truck bell does fit, around that gen III starter.....with a little work on the inside of the bell(die grinder, with a whizz wheel) The gen I cast bell fits right over that gen III starter. Mods, you can move this if you feel the need, but I am not confused about where I posted crazyL
