ipod- to amp, no deck. need info

so up until yesterday i was going to inslall my stereo, amp and subs. But after realizing my son will never use the deck and with the recent theft in the ara I decided to look into the option of ipod and amp only. I did a really quick search and found a kit from an online audio store that comes with the jacks, cable, switch and such. can somebody please post a link or info on this, basically how to hook it up, what kind of amp ect.....

Re: ipod- to amp, no deck. need info

Install the amp as normal, but hook up the remote wire on the amp to either an ACC link or to a switch he can turn on/off manually (If the later is used, I'd still use an ACC hot rather than a constant hot so the battery isn't drained). After that, all that would be needed is a wire with an audio jack that splits to RCA's as the easiest solution.

Take a look at pre-amps though as I hear it's best to run these between the ipod and amp for clarity. I've never looked into these though, so I'm of no real help here.

Check out April issue of Custom Classic Trucks...they have a good article on the Kicker amp install.
