71 C10 Long Bed Restoration
So about a week ago i picked up a 1971 Cheyenne Pickup. Ive ordered all the replacement parts i need such a new trim, window crank, new carpet, and new vinyl seats. The body is in great shape with only surface rust that can be sanded off and painted. we've pulled the seats and the carpet out and are working on getting the seats redone. I was really excited to find out it was a matching numbers car and has all the original parts and never been restored. The one thing that we did change from original is we put a four barrel carb on it since the two barrel just wasn't cutting it. I've run into a snag though, i have no idea how to get the old exterior trim pieces off. what is the trick to getting it off? is there a specific tool i need? any help would be great.

Re: 71 C10 Long Bed Restoration
Welcome!
Sometimes it takes a little while for a response don't get discouraged. As for the trim there are clips on the back of the trim that have studs on them and they are attached through holes in the sheetmetal. You will have to get access to the nuts on the back. Look up under the bed sides and it should be obvious. Take your time and have fun. Mike |

I have a tool that takes the trim off .You slide it between the body and molding and it slides the catches out.I`ll post a pic of it tomorrow.
