Re: My 51 Chev

I was wondering if anyone could give me some tips on alignment of this after market hood? Below is the gap I cannot seem to get rid of on the passenger side. Also, I cannot get the 1/8 to 1/4 clearance on the hood to cowl.

Re: My 51 Chev

Did you fit the hood before painting it? If not many after market hoods sometimes need to cut fitted and re-welded to fit. They are sometimes stamped oversea's and the die's aren't the best quality. If you still have original part or know someone that has an original stock hood ask to try it to see if it is the hood or alignment issues. I am willing to bet it is the hood, always put it together before paint and after the body and fender shims are placed when removing alway number and label placement when you dissamble. I drill 1/8 holes after everything is fitted for reference point before taking apart for paint such as door hinges. Good luck P.S. Nice Truck
