Question does aftermarket mldg match up ?

I have a question for anyone that has purchased aftermarket Chev truck side mldg ? Does it match up to the original ? or do you need to buy the whole kit . My 69 upper mldg is good , just the inserts need blacked out . But the lower mldg as you can see in the pic is damaged on the cab corner . I just wondered what a aftermarket cab corner mldg was gonna look like up to the factory .Don't wanna buy the whole kit if not neccessary .... thanks for any suggestions .... jyd

I think that i'd buy a good quality used one, There are usually little scratches and dings in it and it probably is a little sun faded, and a new aftermarket one would look too shiney or not match as close as you want it to.

I'd talk to teeitup, he just listed a bunch of trim and they probably match what you have.

good luck

David

I agree with griesel72. I replaced all my lower mouldings with new after market ones from the truck shop, good quality but would take a lot of buffing of old ones to match.

The mouldings look and fit nice and came with original style retainers, might be a bit lighter material but vary close. Don't remember the brand but packaging was a knock off of GM style plastic on paper. one of the venders on the board may know what I mean and may carry em. Bought my set off the Truck and Car Shop display at a goodguys show for $200 and some change. Hope this helps.
