White Vinegar is an acid
Why I thought it would be good to clean to calcium deposits from the push mowers carb as it grew into some heavy crystals that carb cleaner wouldn't touch. Was working like a charm, till I got side tracked and left the carb sitting in a plastic cup of straight white vinegar for several days, places on the carb now look like swiss cheese making it un-useable. DOH |

It works well as an etch for bare metal before painting, too.
