Re: pics of smoothed ram horns, anyone ?
He is a thread I started a while back http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=508284 . I concluded it was not worth the effort. I took mine to the radiator shop and had them dipped and blasted for $50 bucks. The used the Eastwood Stainless Steel paint and stainless hardware. Here is a pic.

Re: pics of smoothed ram horns, anyone ?
I know it sucks. I love the ones from Speedway but they aren't in my budget either. Maybe go this route and later on down the road when the truck is done and has some drive time get your self the Speedway's. I know your truck will be worthy of them when completed.

Where did you find them for $300? I thought they were $500.

Re: pics of smoothed ram horns, anyone ?
I have started doing a set of ram horns and it takes time! Got the rough stuff out of the way now have to finish smoothing them. Very messy job also. Brandon

Re: pics of smoothed ram horns, anyone ?
I smoothed all the casting flash off my 350 block and heads and that took forever....several hours over two days with the above-mentioned tools minus blasting cabinet.
Not worth it imho for the ram horns if you can get them for 300 new already smoothed and sell your originals for 75-100 probably?

good one! I was talking to 67cheby really since I don't want to see him spend days working on these when he can be finishing up the truck and getting it on the road I understand pinching pennies...and do whatever I can to cut costs by doing it myself....just don't think I'll ever spend the time smoothing an engine or similar again. How much was that eastwood kit and how much material used on the blaster...then how much time/electricity used on the rest of it. 67cheby...also consider checking with local places that do polishing...they might smooth them for a reasonable price??? I know I read on here about someone getting their intake smoothed and polished relatively cheaply....

Re: pics of smoothed ram horns, anyone ?
eastwood kit $40,media $7.00, heck running garage power is hardly anything on my bill maybe $10.00 month extra. Figure in time need better to take time and try when I don't have money to blow! Not busting your balls at all wish I had your knowledge and could find deals like you do on C10. Find reading your post always interesting.

Re: pics of smoothed ram horns, anyone ?
Thanks, yes, like I said I like DIY and saving money...I guess the thing I really hated the worst on this was all the metal shavings the die grinder made....felt like I had little cuts all over for days afterwards that were itching me...

Re: pics of smoothed ram horns, anyone ?
Lol, I sold my ram horns and the exhaust I had had made for my truck since the exhaust wouldn't work with all of my new crossmembers but, I used that money for my inside bedliner so now I have to rob exhaust money from somewhere else !

Re: pics of smoothed ram horns, anyone ?
If you don't have any then I'd say buy them.... Like I said...I don't want you spending two days on these things... Just sell an extra car tomorrow...it's easy...right (I sold cars for a bit so I'm joking)
