Engine comp wiring diagram - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

I went out and bought the service manual to get the engine compartment wiring diagram and now can't decipher it. Does anyone have a spec type sheet that states what color wire goes to what part. The previous owner had somehow bypassed the orginal engine harness and wired direct through the firewall (which I have since removed) and now I am tring to connect the new engine harness. Thanks for any info.
